Day 1
Okay, so my first run was last night...late! The average temperature yesterday was about 95 degrees, so the later I ran the better. Took Woody with me for security. I had just watched True Blood and the demon and vampires had me spooked. Had to use chain/lead from horse halter (kids lost Woody's old leash/harness). When I got to the end of the street I checked the leash and it was tight, really tight. I wondered why he was running so fast. (needless to say, today I got him a new harness from WalMart). Run was okay, only about 15 minutes...really slow. Maybe if Bill the vampire was following me I would've run faster, well not Bill, he's hot...I would've stopped running to stare at him.
Today, I didn't do too bad with the diet. Big lunch, salad, angel food cake and lots of blueberries. Dinner, had a shake and a small bowl of tuna helper. Lots to drink, coffee, H20, and iced tea with lemon, yum! Evening run was better, although it was really hot. Ran up to the front of the development, back down then to teh end of the street. Stopped to chat with some neighbors. Bad part about this neighborhood, lots of teachers...lots of gossip. I can't wait to be president, or at least secretary of education.
Overall good day...good exercise, good eats and good work!

The Skinny Experiment
Have you ever wondered if skinny people do get more advantages in life? I mean, financially and with opportunity? I've often wondered this and diet after diet I have never had the opportunity to prove this claim either valid or invalid. So, here it is..."the skinny experiment". I give myself one year to get skinny and see if I have more advantages. Will I get into the latest skinny girls social strata? How about making more money? Will my sex life change? How about my self esteem and relationship with my children?
Well, enough wondering...now the doing. After recently watching the movie Julie and Julia I've decided to start working on my own experiment. Can I do it? Well, my experiment is not going to lead me through a 700 page cookbook, but hopefully 700 miles on the road (via foot). But the first thing I need to do is get skinny.
Here's the plan:
1. Every day, I must run...whether day or night, rain or shine, I must run. At the early stages the run will consist of a very slow jog, kinda like when you see an elephant at the zoo take a jog over to the trees for a munch of hay and sip of water. I mean slow and lots of jiggle.
2. Drink 2 servings of milk, one in the am and one in the pm. Preferably mixed with any diet shake mix available.
3. Load up at lunch...proteins through lean meats, some fruits and veggies.
4. Take a multi-vitamin or some consistency of vitamins daily.
5. Let myself enjoy my faves...ice cream, chocolate, cake, cookies, WINE...in moderation...
Okay...now that I have this down...it seems doable. What do you think? I have no where to go but up...well, down in pounds. At this moment I weigh...176.8 and on a 5'6"frame that's a bit much. My goal is to get to around 140-ish. (I'd be happy with 146). We'll see if that will open doors for me? Yikes here we go!
